What's New
September 2026 (26.9.0) Release
Location-Independent MFA
AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
Background
We are introducing a new Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) configuration option for organizations using Zeta Login. This update provides greater flexibility in managing how and when your users are challenged for MFA, while allowing organizations to maintain the security posture that best fits their infrastructure.
How it works
Organizations can now operate under one of two distinct MFA modes:
-
Adaptive MFA (Default & Recommended): This is our most secure configuration and remains enabled by default for all current and future clients. Under this rigorous security model, users are required to provide MFA whenever a change in their IP address or location is detected, in addition to a standard challenge every 7 days.
-
Location-Independent Authentication: This new account-wide mode bypasses IP and location change challenges for all users on the account. When enabled, users are prompted for MFA every 7 days, regardless of where they are logging in from or which network they use.
We recommend exploring this account-wide option if users across your organization frequently encounter MFA prompts due to rapidly changing IP addresses.
How to enable
Because Adaptive MFA provides the highest baseline of security, Location-Independent Authentication can only be enabled for an account by our Support team. If your organization operates in a dynamic network environment and would benefit from this streamlined MFA experience, please contact Support to request activation for your account.
